Why Safe Places?

Peterborough Safe Places provides a list of registered Safe Places made up of local businesses and community venues where individuals with Learning Disabilities or Neurodivergent conditions can find help if they feel unsafe.

  • It will empower individuals to access public spaces with confidence, reducing social isolation and the risk of harassment or abuse.
  • Safe Places promotes a community spirit by encouraging local organisations, businesses and venues to sign up, thereby fostering a culture of inclusivity.

  • Safe Places Peterborough is supported by local advocacy groups such as VoiceAbility Speak Out Peterborough, and is being rolled out in collaboration with Cambridgeshire Constabulary.
