About Us

The Safe Places scheme in North Devon aims to provide a network of spaces for individuals who feel vulnerable or unsafe. Local organisations and businesses sign up to the scheme on a voluntary basis.

The Primary benefit of the Safe Places scheme is to ensure the safety and well-being of individuals who may feel vulnerable or threatened while in public spaces. By designating specific locations as Safe Places, people have access to immediate assistance and support if they feel unsafe or are facing a difficult situation.

If a vulnerable person arrives feeling unwell, confused, lost, or having been a victim of crime staff within a Safer Place are asked to allow the vulnerable person to wait on the premises until they can be collected or assisted by an appropriate person.
